The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is preparing to set up a help desk for the safety of cows in every district. The government has also issued instructions for this. The state government has also instructed the gaushalas to strictly follow the Covid protocol. In addition, masking and thermal screening are also said to be mandatory.

The UP government has said that medical equipments such as oximeters and thermal scanners should be kept in cowsheds and other animals.

According to the report of the IANS , a spokesperson for the government said that a large number of destitute cows are being sheltered in cowsheds, and the government is also increasing the number of cowsheds.

According to official figures, there are about 5268 cowsheds in the state, of which there are about 5,73,417 animals. 4,64,311 cows have been kept in 4,529 temporary cowsheds. Out of this, 40,640 cows have been kept in 161 Kanha Gaushala and 10,827 cows in 407 Kanji House.

Under the Chief Minister Beshara Gau-Vansha Sahayog Yojana, the UP government also made a provision of providing financial assistance of Rs 900 per month to every farmer who takes care of stray animals. A total of 85,869 cows have been made available to 44,651 beneficiaries so far.
