Donald Trump India Visit Day 2: US President Donald Trump and his entourage of officials of the US government will be discussing key issues with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and officials of the government on the second and main leg of this 36-hour India visit. Donald Trump and Melania Trump arrived in India on Monday and took a tour of Ahmedabad. PM Modi and Donald Trump addressed a mega event at the Motera cricket stadium where over 1 lakh people had gathered to witness the extravaganza. After visiting the Taj Mahal later on Monday evening, Trump landed in Delhi and checked in at the ITC Maurya hotel. On Tuesday, Donald Trump will be given a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and later he will visit Rajghat. PM Modi and Trump will hold restricted and delegation-level talks at the Hyderabad House. India and the US will be signing a $3 billion defense deal that Donald Trump announced earlier. Great day for Delhi govt school: Kejriwal on Melania school trip

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal says, “First Lady Melania Trump will attend happiness class in our school today. Great day for our teachers, students, and Delhiites. For centuries, India has taught spirituality to the world. Am happy that she will take back the msg of happiness from our school.”

First Lady Melania Trump will be visiting a Delhi Government school in Nanakpura today. She will interact with students at the school and witness various activities conducted as part of the ‘happiness curriculum’ on Tuesday. The visit triggered a row between the Delhi government and Centre after Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia were dropped from the program. The US Embassy communicated to the Delhi administration that the names of Kejriwal and Sisodia do not figure in the list of invitees for the event. Angered, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said it is a “protocol” and “convention” that state leaders are present when any foreign leader attends events in their states.

Donald Trump and Melania to kick off Day 2 in India from Rashtrapati Bhavan

On Tuesday morning, the second day of US President Donald Trump’s maiden India visit, the First Lady and he would be accorded a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. From there, Donald Trump and Melania Trump would go to Rajghat to pay homage to the ‘samadhi’ of Mahatma Gandhi. Prime Minister Modi would host a lunch for the US president following the talks. India and the US will be signing a mega defense deal of $3 billion that Trump announced at the Motera stadium event on Monday. n the evening, the US president will meet President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. A banquet will be hosted by Kovind. President Trump would depart from India later in the evening. After their Gujarat and Agra visit on Monday, the Trumps landed in Delhi and put up at the ITC Maurya hotel at Chanakyapuri.

In their talks on Tuesday, Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are likely to focus on a wide variety of bilateral and regional issues including trade and investment, defense and security, counter-terrorism, energy security, religious freedom, proposed peace deal with Taliban in Afghanistan and situation in the Indo-Pacific, according to Indian and US officials.
