Delhi may become a gas chamber in the coming days, Corona can become a period for respiratory patients

Pollution is knocking as a major problem in the Corona epidemic. Pollution was reduced after the lockdown. The climate was cleared. This situation was created in the last several years. This could also be one of the reasons why the death rate of corona in the country was low but pollution has started increasing once again. Because of this the former situation has started coming back. The reason for this is that a large number of vehicles have started coming on the roads. Now, burning of straw in Punjab and Haryana will increase pollution. As the temperature drops, the smoke and dust will start collecting at the bottom instead of going too high in the atmosphere. This creates the condition of a gas chamber. In this case, the corona can become a call for respiratory patients.

In Italy, it was seen that there were more cases of corona and deaths in the pollution affected northern region than in the southern region. Similarly, in the study of Harvard University in the US, a comparative study of pollution levels and death data was done. It was found that increasing the level of PM-2.5 also increased mortality. The corona attacks the lungs. Through the HEFA filter we showed in Delhi that lungs become black when they live in polluted environment. Because PM-10, PM2.5 and other microscopic particles reach the body through breath and accumulate in the lungs. If the firecrackers burn in Deepawali, its smoke will go into the lungs of the corona infected patients.

This can worsen the condition of corona infectives. Anyway, due to pollution, respiratory diseases are increasing rapidly. According to a study published in the medical journal Lancet last year, the number of patients suffering from respiratory disease COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) has almost doubled in the country in three decades. Asthma patients have also increased. According to that report, 32 percent of patients suffering from respiratory diseases are in India. Around 4.2 percent people in the country suffer from COPD and 2.9 percent people suffer from asthma. Pollution has been considered the biggest reason for this. Lung cancer is also being seen in young people due to pollution. People who do not smoke are also becoming victims of lung cancer. Pollution is also a major cause of heart attack and stroke. Therefore, Increasing pollution in this era of corona can prove to be more risky in terms of health. Therefore, it is necessary that the government takes permanent steps to prevent pollution.

Under the economic package that the government has announced, the use of clean energy will have to be promoted. It is not possible to reduce pollution by using coal and petrol as per the present time. Because the biggest cause of pollution is the smoke emanating from thermal power plants, industrial units and vehicles. 60-65 percent of the pollution is due to these reasons. 35 to 40 percent of pollution is caused by burning of straw. Therefore, it is important to stop burning stubble. Farmers should be provided with the option for proper disposal of straw. In addition, more and more public transport will have to be used. Only then will pollution be reduced.
