Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib

During the partition of the country, how many families got separated, how many children and people were killed, how many people changed their religion… but humanity did not change religion. A living example of this is the story of a Muslim newborn separated from the family during partition. A few days ago, when 75-year-old Amarjeet came to know that he does not belong to a Sikh but a Muslim family, then his longing to meet his family woke up. In Shri Kartarpur Sahib, when Amarjeet met a sister who was separated in childhood, the dam of patience of both of them was broken and the pain of partition flowed out as a tear.

A video of Pakistani journalist Ghulam Abbas Shah told the story of the pain of the partition of India-Pakistan in a matter of minutes. Ghulam Abbas shared a video on internet media and wrote that even today the sad memories of partition shake our mind. One such story is that of Kulsoom and his brother Amarjeet, who were separated in the partition of 1947.

During the partition, all the members of Amarjeet’s family went to Pakistan and in the runaway, the newborn Amarjeet was left here. After that he was adopted by a Sikh family of village Pabwan located near Nurmahal and given the name Amarjeet due to not knowing the name. Despite being a Muslim for 75 years, Amarjeet was living in Jalandhar according to Sikh customs.

Kulsoom told Ghulam Abbas Shah that his mother often referred to his brother and a sister who had been left behind in Jalandhar. Kulsoom was born in Pakistan itself. Kulsoom also always wanted to meet her brother and lost sister after listening to her mother’s words. Some time ago, when Dara Singh, a friend of his father, met him, Kulsoom’s mother mentioned about her children living in Jalandhar, Punjab and told about Pabwan village. When Dara Singh came to Jalandhar, he told Amarjeet the whole story that his mother and a sister were in Faisalabad, Pakistan.

Whatsapp mixed the two brothers and sisters

Amarjeet had expressed his desire to meet his sister. Dara Singh had contacted both of them on WhatsApp. Amarjit Singh could meet his sister on Wednesday after 75 years after the construction of Shri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor. Kulsoom told Ghulam Abbas that he had nothing to do with religion. Seeing his brother alive, his soul got cold. He also thanked both the governments.
