Share Market: Nifty, Sensex breaks 2,000 points below 8,000 for the first time since December 2016
Stock markets opened today with heavy downpour on Thursday and early trading is also seen in heavy decline. The BSE Sensitive Index Sensex opened today at 27,773.36, down 1,096.15 points. By the time the news was written, it went up to a minimum of 27,050.90. At the same time, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange opened today at 8,063.30 with a steep fall of 405.50 points. At the time of writing the news, it went up to a minimum of 7,937.05.
The Sensex was trading 7.17 per cent or 2068.83 points down at 36,800.64 in early trade on Thursday at 9.25 am and the Nifty was trading 6.9 per cent or 584.15 points down at 7,884.65. The Nifty is below 8,000 for the first time since 27 December 2016.
