Samantha to be a part of Telugu remake of Kannada film Dia?

Samantha Akkineni is one of the leading actresses in the Telugu and Tamil film industries. She was last seen in the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster 96. It looks like the actress is on a film signing spree during the lockdown.

The latest buzz that is doing the rounds in Tollywood is that Samantha is keen on doing the Telugu remake of Kannada hit film, Dia. Reportedly, the makers had approached the U-Turn actress to play the lead role in the film. While the actress was impressed with the idea, she hasn’t signed on the dotted lines yet.

Reports suggest that the Telugu remake of Dia is in the nascent stage and would materialise in the coming weeks. An official announcement regarding the remake will be out soon.

Director KS Ashoka’s Dia is a romantic drama starring Pruthvi Ambaar, Dheekshith and Kushee in the lead roles.

Samantha’s past films such as U-Turn, Oh! Baby and Jaanu have been remakes of hit films from different languages.

As reported earlier, she is thrilled about her upcoming horror flick, which will be directed by Ashwin Saravanan. The Tamil-Telugu bilingual will have actor Prasanna playing a pivotal role. The principal shoot of this untitled film will begin once the lockdown is lifted.

Samantha is also in talks to play the lead role in Singeetam Srinivas Rao’s upcoming film, which is a biopic based on Bengaluru-based activist, Nagaratnamma.
