A video is going viral on social media, in which a healthworker is seen applying a blank syringe to a young man. The video is being shared as saying of India.

It was revealed in Webkuf’s investigation that the video is from Mexico, not India. The video is being shared at a time when India has crossed the 14 crore dose of vaccine. The Health Ministry released the data on 26 April, stating that 14,19,11,223 doses of vaccine have been applied in India.

What we found in the investigation

By reverse searching the keyframes of viral videos on Google, we got the report of the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo .

Taking a clue from the report, we searched different keywords related to the case on Google. We have received many reports confirming that the video is from Mexico.

An article from Mexico’s independent news website Aristegui Noticias shows that the video is from the ‘Mexican Institute of Social Security’ (IMSS).
