COVID-19: Death toll crossed 22,000 in Italy, 1,68,941 people infected

Angelo Borelli, head of the Department of Civil Protection, said that 1,189 new cases have been registered on Thursday. The remaining 72 percent of Corona positive people are at home.

Borelli said that 525 people died due to Corona virus on Thursday. After which the total death toll has reached 22,170. The epidemic first started from northern Italy on 21 February.

According to the National Federation of Order of Surgeons and Dentists (FNOMCeO), 127 doctors have lost their lives so far while saving the lives of people suffering from corona virus.

“We have seen in the last few days that we are in a descending trend in terms of the curve of epidemiology”, said Silvio Brusferro, president of the National Institutes of Health, who was present at the press conference on Thursday.
