China prohibits wild animal trade due to Coronavirus threat, also adjourns annual session of Parliament
China has announced a ban on wild animal trade to combat the threat of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Also, the annual session of Parliament has been postponed.

China is taking all steps to deal with the threat of coronavirus (COVID-19). He has now announced a ban on the trade and consumption of wild animals. According to the reports, the consumption of wild animals is believed to be responsible for the deadly coronavirus outbreak. The National People’s Congress, the National People’s Congress (NPC), the country’s top legislative committee, has approved the proposal for the purpose of curbing illegal trade and excessive consumption of wild animals.

It is not the first time such a step has been taken. Earlier, during the outbreak of SARS virus in the year 2002-2003, the trade of wild animals was banned. Hundreds of people died in China due to SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). China Central Television (CCTV) has said in its report that the infection of the coronavirus has exposed the health hazards caused by the consumption of wild animals. This step has been taken to protect the health of the people.

An alarm of caution about the threat of the coronavirus is that China has decided to postpone its annual session of parliament starting on March 5. According to reports, the standing committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), the country’s top legislature, approved the draft postponement of the annual session. According to the state media, the third annual session of the 13th NPC was to begin in Beijing on March 5.

The meetings of the NPC and the apex consulting organization Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) are held in March every year and the government’s annual agenda including the budget is approved. These two institutions have more than five thousand members. Chinese experts say the postponement of the Parliament session is an unprecedented event. On Monday, 409 new cases were detected in China. 648 new cases were confirmed a day earlier. A total of 77,150 people have been infected so far. The number of people who lost their lives to the virus has reached 2592. However, new cases were not reported in the capital of Beijing and Shanghai.
