Odisha’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Nav Kishore Das on Thursday evening declared Black Fungus as an epidemic. Let us know that the outbreak of Mucor Ecosis i.e. Black Fungus is increasing in India.

Odisha Government has declared Fungus as an epidemic. The state Health and Family Welfare Minister Nav Kishore Das announced this on Thursday evening. He said that the state government has notified Fungus in the Epidemic Act today. It is noteworthy that Black Fungus cases are continuously increasing in Odisha along with other parts of the country.

In India, the outbreak of Mucor Mycosis i.e. Black Fungus is increasing. In such a situation, the Central Government had given important instructions to the State Governments to notify the Fungus under the epidemic law and report all the cases to the Union Health Ministry. Cases of fungus are seen on patients who have been cured of the corona. All confirmed and suspected cases of fungus will be reported to the Ministry of Health.

Love Aggarwal, joint secretary in the Ministry of Health, has written to the states asking all government and private hospitals and medical colleges to follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Screening, Diagnosis, and Management of Black Fungs and the ICMR. With this Mucor Mycosis (Black Fungus) should be declared a notified disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897. Rajasthan and Telangana have already declared fungus to be a notified disease under epidemic laws.

The risk of fungus is increasing in the country due to corona infection. By now many people have lost their lives due to black fungus in many states. Mucormycosis or black fungus is a rare type of fungal infection. This is a serious infection caused by a group of molds or fungi. These molds survive throughout the environment. These affect the sinuses or lungs.
