London. Nirav Modi (48), accused of the PNB scam, filed bail application on Friday in the UK High Court. The hearing on Nirav’s petition will be on June 11. Earlier on Thursday, the Westminster Magistrate Court extended the remand of Nirav till June 27. The court has asked the Government of India that if Nirav extradition, then in which jail he will be kept, inform within in 14 days.

Nirav is in jail since March 19
Nirav’s bail application has been dismissed three times in the lower court. Nirav, accused in the Rs 13,700-crore PNB scam, is in the Wandsworth Jail of south-west London. On March 19, Nirav was arrested from Central London’s Metro Bank Branch. That bank account was opened.
The PNB scandal was revealed in January last year. Nirav had fled abroad before that. He had got the fake letter of undertakings (LOU) issued by the PNB affiliated with the officials of the Bombay-based Brady House Branch. Indian agencies are trying to extradite him.
