A six-year-old girl forced the government to make rules for online education in Jammu and Kashmir. The video of a six-year-old girl, who went viral in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over problems in online education, has not only enhanced the childhood of young children but has also given relief to lakhs of older children. On the instructions of the Lieutenant Governor, the School Education Department has issued new rules of education available in a virtual way not only in 48 hours but in 24 hours only.

The Lieutenant Governor gave this information by tweeting. Now classes for children from class 1st to class VIII will be held for a maximum of one and a half hours in a day. Only a maximum of two classes can be taken. Online classes cannot be taken for more than 3 hours from class IX to XII. The biggest relief has come to small children. Not only with the children of pre-primary, but the teachers will interact with their parents only for 30 minutes in the stipulated day. Homework is prohibited for children up to class V.

Jammu and Kashmir

Schools have to share their experiences with children and parents in a pleasant manner. Instructions have been given to strictly implement the new rules in all government and private schools. Administrative secretary of the department BK Singh has asked the directors of Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department to get the new guidelines implemented. He asked both the directors to send their information to all the Chief Education Officers and Zonal Education Officers and Heads of Schools.

These instructions will have to be implemented by government and private schools. Under the new guidelines, for children from class I to VIII, time can be taken up to a maximum of one and a half hours in a day. It may consist of two sessions lasting 30 to 45 minutes. Four sessions can be organized for children from class IX to XII and for this also the maximum time limit has been fixed at three hours.

  • According to the new rules, teachers will include parents in messages, chat groups, emails as per the need and give necessary information or suggestions. In the coming week, for the topic, we will inform about it a week in advance.
  • Teachers will share e-content with students and parents as well as with parents and inform them about how to use the gadgets available.
  • Feedback will be taken from time to time on the performance of the students. Parents who are not in a position to cooperate in digital learning. They can take the help of neighbors or volunteers.
  • The content will be created according to the needs, interests and abilities of the children and it will be shared with the children and parents.
  • Everyday life experiences will be shared. There will also be assignments of interest to the children. Which will include Listening, Reading, Story, Drawing, Picture Reading, Art Craft. Schools can hold brief meetings and share experiences with parents and children through video conferencing.
  • Parents will be encouraged to make short videos documenting the work of the child and there should be no tension in it.
  • Parents will be informed about upcoming TV programs.
  • The Department of School Education has given information about the steps taken to provide online education in the situation arising out of Corona. The department has said that there are 24000 primary and upper primary schools in Jammu and Kashmir including government and private. Which is covered by All India Radio Jammu and All India Radio Kashmir. About 16 lakh students are being benefited.
  • 3132 secondary schools, including government and private ones, are being covered by IGNOU’s Gyan channel, which is benefiting 3.29 lakh students.
  • There are 1250 Higher Secondary Schools including Government and Private which DD Kashir is covering. Due to this 2.11 lakh students are being benefited.
