Things to know on world population day 2019
World population day is celebrated every year on 11th July. This day is celebrated to make people aware of the growing population worldwide. On this day people are given information about family planning, gender equality, human rights, and maternal health.
Different programs are organized on the day of World Population Day, in which people are warned against the danger due to population growth. World population day is being celebrated since 1989. This day started under the United Nations Development Program, and after that, World Population Day was celebrated in all countries.
People are being educated against the growing population on the day of World Population Day. The theme of World Population Day was last year’s family planning. Rapid population growth is dangerous for society and health for many reasons. Even though being illegal, there is a tradition of child marriage in many backward areas of the country today.
Because of this, women become mothers at an early age. Which is fatal for the health of both the baby and the mother. In the conservative society, men still do not want to adopt family planning in the boy’s wish. Many times women are more stressed to produce a boy and many women are also killed.
Apart from this, girls are not given information regarding remedial measures before marriage. Indeed, poverty and illiteracy are also due to many reasons for population growth.
People do not understand the importance of family planning due to illiteracy and maternal health is less important than the importance of health and gender equality. The increasing population increases the problem of unemployment too.
However, population growth can be prevented by increasing the level of education and the publicity and spread of awareness campaign in the people.
