Creating natural colours at home This is the time of year when we paint the faces of our loved ones and eat delectable Gujiyas & Pakori with Thandai, among other things.
POWDER OF TURMERIC Bright yellow spice known as turmeric is frequently used in Indian cuisine. Mix flour or cornflour with turmeric powder to create yellow Gulal until the required hue is achieved.
Flowering hibiscus The brilliant hues of hibiscus flowers are well-known, and you can use them to make yellow, red, and pink Gulals. Hibiscus blossoms should be dried in the sun and ground into a fine powder before being used to make gulal.
SPINACH You may prepare Green Gulal with this leafy green vegetable with a green colour. Wash and dry the fresh spinach leaves for this. Make a fine powder out of them when they have dried.
SANDALWOOD A aromatic wood with many uses is sandalwood. Sandalwood can be used in this manner by simply grinding it into a fine powder. But, you can combine it with regular flour if you wish to lighten the colour.
RICE It is a common element in all cuisines consumed in the nation and may be used to create Gulals of any colour. Rice or a fine powder will do; otherwise, it can irritate your skin.
SAFFRON One of the unusual spices used in Indian cooking, this one can give Gulal lovely crimson or orange hues. For the ideal color, you can ground some saffron strands and combine them with flour or rice powder.
