US & ALLIES ATTACK SYRIA

In response to its latest alleged chemical weapons atrocity, the US, Briton and France launched military strikes against Bashar al-Assad’s Syrian regime, as announced by President Donald Trump on Friday.

Large and big explosions were heard in the Syrian capital Damascus soon after President Donald Trump began a White House address to announce the action.

Mr. Trump said in a primetime televised speech to the nation that “A short time ago, I ordered the United States armed forces to launch precision strikes on targets associated with the chemical weapons capabilities of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad,”

“A combined operation with the armed forces of France and the United Kingdom is now underway. We thank them both. This massacre was a significant escalation in a pattern of chemical weapons use by that very terrible regime.”

According to different US officials, the strike targeted chemical production facilities and multiple types of bombs were used and many targets were chosen.

In his statement US President Donald Trump also warned Iran and Russia not to stand by their ally in Damascus, and if they do they will face serious consequences.

Trump further argued that “Russia must decide if it will continue down this dark path or if it will join with civilized nations as a force for stability and peace,”.

A week ago alleged toxic gas attacks were launched in the Damascus suburb of Douma and as a repercussion to this, strikes by the US and its allies were expected. Trump stated in a Tweet.

Trump emotionally declared. “Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria,”

“President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad. Big price to pay.” He also added.

France’s President Emmanuel Macron, who signed his country up for a joint response, matched the apparent determination and Trump’s anger.

Donald Trump now has a coalition of sorts, although Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May was more cautious but still it joined hands with the US by the time the first missile was launched.

Ms. May said there was “no practicable alternative” to the use of force against Assad.

Donald Trump’s language was more brutal: “They are crimes of a monster.”

As the situation gets tense and the world is being divided into two opposing camps, there are apprehensions of increased tensions and violence, hopefully, reason will prevail and the situation calm down soon
