Somnath Bharti: ‘AAP’ MLA arrested in UP: Press review
Former Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti has been arrested in Rae Bareli for allegedly making controversial statements about hospitals in Uttar Pradesh.
He was arrested on Monday from a guest house in Rae Bareli. Earlier, ink was also thrown at them in the guest house itself. Last week, Bharti commented on the state of UP’s government hospitals.
According to the Indian Express , on Sunday, a case was registered at Jagdishpur police station in Amethi with several charges. After the incident of throwing ink on Somnath Bharti, the police team reached the guest house to arrest him in the case registered in Jagdishpur police station.
According to the newspaper, the police has arrested Somnath Bharti as well as the youth who threw ink.
Somnath Bharti was later produced in a court in Sultanpur district. There his bail application was rejected and sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Now the matter will be heard on January 13.
