Pakistan hands list 261 Indian prisoners, 209 fishermen included

Islamabad: Pakistan has handed over a list of 261 Indian prisoners lodged in Indian jails to the Indian High Commission on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Foreign Ministry, these Indian prisoners include 209 fishermen and 52 others. It said that this step has been taken up under the Embassy Level Agreement between Pakistan and India.
This agreement was on May 21, 2008, under which the two countries have to exchange exchanges list of prisoners in each other’s custody, twice a year, on first January and first on July 1.
It said that the Indian government will also share the list of Pakistani prisoners with the Pakistani High Commissioner in New Delhi.
