Navneet Kalra arrested in ‘oxygen concentrator black marketing’ case

More than 500 oxygen concentrators were seized a few days before Kalra’s restaurant.
The Delhi Police on Sunday night arrested businessman Navneet Kalra, accused of ‘hoarding and black-marketing’ the oxygen contractor amid the Corona virus epidemic.
A few days before Kalra’s three restaurants in the national capital, Delhi, more than 500 oxygen concentrators were seized and he was absconding after that. Explain that there is a huge demand for oxygen concentrator in the second wave of COVID infection.
The Delhi High Court on Friday refused to give interim relief from arrest to Kalra. Kalra moved the High Court late in the evening of 13 May after a session court refused to grant relief.
In a recent police raid, 524 oxygen concentrators were recovered from three restaurants in Kalra – Khana Chacha, Nega Joo and Town Hall. The investigation of the case was later handed over to the Crime Branch of Delhi Police.
The police claimed that these oxygen concentrators were imported from China and were being sold for 50 to 70 thousand rupees while their actual price was between 16 to 22 thousand rupees.
