In Motera, the Indian fast bowlers took just 11 overs and got only one wicket while the spinners took nine wickets.

The pitch of Motera Stadium Narendra Modi, built at a cost of around 800 crores, is behaving differently with the pink ball. In the previous Pink Ball Test matches, the fast bowlers had dominance, but on this ground, the spinners got dominated on the first day of the Pink Ball Test being played between India and England.

Left-arm spinner Akshar Patel (6/38) and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (3/26) combined to take nine wickets on the first day, which saw England struggling in the first innings.
