Is Modi ‘unfriend’ all social media, hint at leaving Twitter, Facebook, Instagram

Read Time:3 Minute, 58 Second

The shrewd Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who uses social media efficiently to reach his message to the public, shocked everyone by announcing from the same forum on Monday night that he was thinking of withdrawing from all social media from next Sunday. Nobody is in a position to explain what is the reason behind the decision to withdraw from this platform with crores of followers.

It is believed that he wants to give many messages simultaneously. There can be a lot of thinking like the recent negativity in social media, the partisan attitude seen in these forums, the attempt to save society from its addiction. Prime Minister Modi on Monday expressed his mind on micro-blogging site Twitter While saying, ‘Since this Sunday I have been thinking about leaving all my accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. I will inform you about this.

Meanwhile, the BJP’s IT cell has asked people to wait till Sunday. After Modi’s tweet, speculation is rife that he is disappointed with rumors spreading on social media. The more popular social media has become, the more controversial it is. Accusations have increased significantly. Keep in mind that the question has often been raised about social media that it cannot be controlled and hence becomes chaotic. Perhaps the Prime Minister wants to convey the same message with his decision. Some people are also saying that India can launch its own social media platform.

Have been lobbying

This tweet is also considered very shocking because since the 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign, Modi has been promoting his central schemes and social concerns through social media. He has often called social media the biggest link between the government and the public and has encouraged people to use it.

Trend started ‘No Sir’

As soon as Modi’s tweet, the hashtag ‘No Sir’ started trending on social media. People started appealing to Prime Minister Modi not to leave social media. Within two hours, 68,000 people commented on Modi’s tweet. The number of retweeters increased to 34 thousand and the number of likes exceeded 10.5 lakh. Many people have also started saying that if Modi leaves this platform, he too will say goodbye to it. Amrita Fadnavis, wife of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has also said that she will follow PM Modi. Leaders of several other political parties including Priyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena have also reacted to this.

Congress targeted

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also did not delay in reacting to Modi’s tweet. Rahul tweeted, “Leave hate, not social media.” Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, while advising Modi, wrote, ‘Respected Modi ji, I sincerely want you to give this suggestion to your troll army, who keep abusing people day and night.’

Zuckerberg changed his profile photo

The popularity of PM Modi on social media is reflected from the fact that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg hosted Modi at the company’s headquarters in September 2015. Just before this meeting, Zuckerberg also changed his profile photo in support of the Modi government’s ‘Digital India’ program.

5.33 crore followers of PM Modi on Twitter

This tweet of Prime Minister Modi is surprising because he has a lot of followers on Facebook and Twitter. He has more than 5 crore 33 lakh 70 thousand followers on Twitter. While he himself follows 2373 people. On the other hand, Facebook has 445 million, 30 million on Instagram, 45 million users on YouTube.

PM Modi remains active on social media

Let me tell you that social media is given a big credit in the political success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His activism on social media is said to be very important for the rapid increase in his journey from the Chief Minister of Gujarat to the Prime Minister of the country. He became very popular on social media as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. His penetration among the youth was also made through social media. After the activism and success of PM, most of the leaders turned to social media. Let us know that Prime Minister Modi is the most followed leader on various social media accounts. He often keeps in touch with people worldwide through social media.

Surprised among people, are requesting not to leave

This tweet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi surprised the people. People are posting on their twitter handle, requesting them not to do so. It has also been written in some tweets that because of him he connected with Twitter, so he should not decide to leave social media.

Rahul Gandhi tightened

Senior Congress leader and former party president Rahul Gandhi has tweeted by sharing the screen shot of PM Modi’s tweet. He tweeted – Leave hatred and not social media.
