Brave soldiers of the Indian Army have rescued 74 tourists, including women and children, trapped in the Yumthang Valley of North Sikkim. This was informed in a release from the Ministry of Defense. It said that no one has died in the landslide here.

“As soon as we got information about the tourists stranded here due to the severe landslide that took place at a distance of 19 km from Yumthang valley, brave soldiers of Trishakti Corps of Army under Eastern Command rescued them on Wednesday,” the release said. After the tourists were evacuated safely, they were provided with food to eat and medical care.

Indian Army is famous for saving people by putting their lives on the line in such rescue operations. There is no match for their bravery. Just a few days ago, brave soldiers of the Indian Air Force safely evacuated an Israeli civilian from Markha Valley near Nimaling Camp in Ladakh.

The name of this person is Atar Kahana. He had come to this place for trekking. However, he had to face many other problems related to altitude, loss of oxygen and vomiting on the way. Unable to find a way out, he finally appealed to the army for help.

After this, 114 Helicopter Unit of the Indian Air Force launched a rescue operation and rescued Atar from Nimaling Camp in Markha Valley at an altitude of 16800 feet.

In another incident on August 27, the army rescued 38-year-old Akos Worms from Budapest, Hungary, trapped in the upper reaches of Umashila in Ladakh. For this, a search and rescue operation was carried out for about 30 hours.

Similarly, in many other missions, the Indian Army has displayed its indomitable courage. Even in the most difficult situations, he has worked with patience and valor and has extended his help to the people.
