ICC has set a flurry of tournaments, these 17 tournaments will be played from 2021 to 2031

Read Time:2 Minute, 24 Second

There was a time when the ICC tournament was not organized for at least two-three years and preparations were made for it, but according to the new Future Tour Program released by the International Cricket Council on 1 June, according to the ICC events. The flood has come. Talking about the period from 2021 to 2031, a total of 17 ICC tournaments are to be held. These do not include ICC events of women’s cricket and under-19 cricket. This indicates that at least one ICC tournament will be held every year.

According to the new plan of the International Cricket Council, the T20 World Cup will be organized every other year, while the ODI World Cup will be organized every fourth year as before. Apart from this, the final of the ICC World Test Championship will be played as a cycle every other year, while the Champions Trophy to be held after four years has also returned to the ICC diary, which will be held in 2025 and again in 2029. At the same time, if we talk about from 2021 to 2031, then 6 T20 World Cups, 3 ODI World Cups, 6 World Test Championships, and 2 Champions Trophy is to be played.

Can cricket boards be angry?

Cricket boards may be upset with the tournaments announced by the International Cricket Council till 2031, as bilateral cricket can also be affected by it. Only the ICC would have benefited from hosting the International Cricket Council tournament. Apart from this, the host team of the tournament also remains the most profitable, but the rest of the teams are not able to earn much money. In such a situation, how small countries see these events, it is also a matter to be seen.

What will be the problem with ICC events?

If we look at men’s cricket, then tournaments like Asia Cup are also included in it, for which it can be difficult to find time, because countries like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh play this tournament. It also takes 20 days to organize this event. In such a situation, having one ICC event every year and then some tournaments like the Asia Cup along with the T20 cricket league of every country will increase the busyness of cricket.
