Read Time:1 Minute, 45 Second

Makar Sankranti is a holy festival for Indians. Due to the rising cases of Covid 19 and Omicron curbs imposed no holy dips in Ganga in Haridwar. In Hinduism, Makar Sankranti is a big day and people visit the pilgrimage to take a bath in the Ganges and do charity on this day. At the same time, due to the ban on holy bathing in Haridwar on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the Har Ki Paudi area has been sealed, so this time there is silence here on Makar Sankranti bathing festival.

The police administration has stopped people to visit here due to coronavirus infection. A large number of police forces have been deployed in the Har Ki Paudi area. The entire Harki Paudi area has been sealed. Not a single devotee is visible in the Har Ki Paudi area.

The no sound environment has never been seen at Har ki Paudi sight before. The Makar Sankranti festival has great significance when people from different states visit here. On this day, bathing in the Ganges and donating khichdi of black lentils has been said to be of great importance, but this time due to coronavirus infection, bathing is banned. The police is sending back the devotees coming from outside the border itself.

Devdoli’s bath at the Ganges Ghats of Uttarkashi

On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the Ganges Ghats in Uttarkashi were crowded since morning. Devotees took holy dip at Manikarnika Ghat, Jadbharat Ghat, Asi Ganga Ghat and other ghats of Uttarkashi. The villagers who came from different areas also got the god dolls bathed in the Ganges. The rush of people taking bath in the Ganges started from 4 o’clock in the morning. During this, covid rules were also kept on hold.

Strict Restrictions are Being Followed in Haridwar

Haridwar CO Shekhar Suyal says that the government had issued Kovid guidelines, which are being implemented. All the officers and employees are strictly following the rules and guidelines of covid while on duty. People who are coming to take baths from other states are being refused and sent back.
