US President Donald Trump on Monday honored India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) with the prestigious Legion of Merit award. Prime Minister Modi has been given this honor for his leadership in enhancing the strategic partnership of India and America and for raising India as a global power. Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu accepted this award on behalf of PM Modi. US National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien presented the award at White High.
In a tweet, Brian said, President Trump has “awarded the Legion of Merit to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership in expanding the strategic partnership between the United States and India.”
The Legion of Merit is one of America’s most respected awards, given to the head of a country or government.
Brian said in the next tweet that Trump has also honored Prime Minister Scott Morrison and former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe with the Legion of Merit. Ambassadors of both countries received this honor.
